Ruth is one of those rare professionals who listens to one's ideas and comes back with well thought out suggestions and ideas of her own to take in further possibilities of the client's basic ideas without ever making the client feel in any way forced to fall in with what she suggests. We both have an interest in and love of Japanese gardens and we explored the possibilities of a design on those principles in my very small back garden. i very much enjoyed the relationship that grew up between us during those discussions. She and her team have succeeded in fulfilling what are in the the UK, the fairly unusual demands of designing a Japanese garden that would be authentic, but not a travesty of that great garden tradition. She regularly took me through the budget and discussed with me any changes or additions she had to make; for instance the price of wood had drastically increased by the start of the project and there were other shortages along the way, which meant unavoidable delays. Her energy and enthusiasm and that of her team never flagged. The results are fantastic and far above what I had dared to hope. Everyone who has seen it, has left enthusiastic praise. I love my peaceful and beautiful little garden and look forward to watching it mature and grow.

Ruth came to our rescue and designed a part of our garden that wasn't used. Now it is a lovely family space which we will use all year round. We called on Ruth for help to turn part of our unused south facing driveway into a small garden space. We wanted privacy, but at the same time didn't want to create a bleak barrier to the surrounding neighbours. Ruth's design blew us away and we knew from the offset that she got us. We were lucky enough to be able to do the work ourselves, but Ruth has been with us all the way - troubleshooting effectively when needed and encouraging us with her enthusiasm for the project.
